fresh produce

One of the things we did to improve our eating habits was to join Farm Fresh to You. Being in California, we can get a lot of high-quality fresh produce at a reasonable price and this company delivers it right to your door. They also have recipes that give you ideas on what to do with your produce. Here's one that is really good:

Crunchy Radish and Chicken Skillet

Here are some tips on how to improve the flavor of the dish:
1. Use a mandolin slicer to cut the radishes almost paper thin. This will keep them from over powering the dish.
2. Butterfly the chicken breasts and season them with a cajun spice, such as Penzey's Cajun Seasoning.
3. Grill the chicken instead of pan frying it. There are wasted calories in the frying oil, albeit there is only a small amount used. Plus the grilled chicken just tastes better.
4. Use fresh peas (boil them first), instead of canned peas.
5. If you taste the final dish and think it's missing something, hit it with a couple of splashes of Tapatio hot sauce.
